How to get to/from Narita International Airport

This article will introduce options on how to get to and from Narita Airport and Tokyo Narita airport is located in Chiba, a prefecture boarding Tokyo, approximately 75 kms from the heart of Tokyo and Haneda Airport.

Keisei Skyliner Express

To get to Tokyo downtown, take the Keisei Skyliner from Narita Airport Station/Airport Terminal 2 Station to Nippori or Ueno Station.

Travel Time: about 47 minutes

Transfers:1 time

Ticket Price: ¥ 2,570

Keisei Main Line

From Narita Airport, take the Keisei Main Line to Nippori Station or Ueno Station.

Travel Time: about 80 minutes

Ticket Price: ¥ 1050

Narita Express (NEX)

For convenient and no transfer travel, take Narita Express (NEX) from Narita Airport Station/Airport Terminal 2 Station. The main stations this train can access include Tokyo, Shinagawa, Shibuya, Shinjuku, and Yokohama. For 4070 yen, foreign passengers can take a discounted round trip from the airport to Tokyo and return during a two-week period with the NEX Tokyo Round Trip Ticket that can be bought at Narita Airport terminals.

JR Sobu Line

For those travelers on a budget, JR Sobu Line is a cheaper alternative to Narita Express. The one-way trip costs ¥1340 and takes about 90 minutes to travel. JR Sobu Line has one departure per hour.

Limousine Bus

Limousine buses depart Narita Airport Terminals regularly to Tokyo Station. Direct limousine bus connections are also available to a number of major hotels around Tokyo Station.

Travel Time: about 100 minutes

Ticket Price: ¥2800

Foreign tourists Special Round Trip Ticket: ¥4500

Airport Bus TYO-NRT

Airport Bus TYO-NRT travels between Narita Airport, Tokyo Station, and Ginza Station. It has a one-way fare that costs ¥1300 with daytime operating intervals of 10-20mins. For late night and early morning departures, the ticket will cost ¥2600.

From Narita airport to Tokyo’s 23 wards and surrounding prefectures, one of the best options for private transportation is to hire a car or a limousine service. This allows you to have the flexibility and convenience of travelling on your own schedule, without having to rely on public transportation.
